The LEAP Nature Risk Assessment Approach: P3: Reporting
P3: Reporting
Guiding Question: What will we disclose in line with the TNFD disclosure recommendations?
Draft disclosure recommendations
As outlined elsewhere in the beta release of the TNFD framework, core to the TNFD’s mission has been the development of draft disclosure recommendations for nature-related risks and opportunities. The TNFD’s draft recommended disclosures are closely aligned to those produced by the TCFD for climate-related disclosures. This will ensure the maximum consistency of approach and language and the comparability of supporting guidance, recognising the links and differences among atmospheric, terrestrial, freshwater and ocean realms.
A summary of the TNFD disclosure recommendation is outlined below:
Additional ContentUseful Tools and Platforms
The following tools and platforms have been carefully selected by the TNFD to help support you in completing this phase of the LEAP process.
Data 4 NatureLive
Data4Nature (D4N) is a complete and comprehensive solution to establish and manage information about your natural capital, using the latest global measurement standards. Data4Nature provides an intuitive web interface to collect and organise natural capital data. The D4N analytics provides the tools to systematically produce natural capital reports for ESG, banking and finance and participation in environmental markets.
Pelt8Live
A SaaS platform to help companies collect and manage all their sustainability-related data in a clean and auditable way. We are building an open API to make this data securely accessible to third parties in the sustainability ecosystem.
Corporate biodiversity impact – Sfeeri TollsetLive
We provide corporate clients with 1) assessments of impact on biodiversity and nature, 2) mitigation plans and 3) facilitated reporting. All of this location specific and world wide.
CDPLive
Key disclosure framework for water and forest impacts for companies and cities
CARE-TDL (Comprehensive Accounting in Respect of Ecology)Live
CARE TDL is an integrated accounting model which attempts to extend the fundamental principle of capital conservation to natural and human capitals.
Species Threat Abatement and Restoration (STAR) metricLive
The STAR* measures the contribution that investments can make to reducing species extinction risk.It can help national and subnational governments, cities, civil society, the finance industry, investors and companies to target their investments and activities to achieve conservation outcomes and contribute to global policy aims.
A methodology to help organisations identify their impacts and design a strategic plan to reduce, mitigate and compensate them, as well as to reduce impacts in the supply chain. LIFE Methodology can be used both as an Environmental Management System and as a third-party Certification Scheme.
An assessment/guidance of needs, current practices and potential indicator models, and a tool that provides a robust and repeatable methodology for selecting biodiversity indicators, including a structured approach to use these indicators for assessing the state of the ecological environment, the pressures on biodiversity and the responses.
Online tool to explore, assess, respond, and value water risk and explore maps, country profiles, and stories made by WWF, reports.
BioscopeLive
Determine the impact of a company’s supply chain on biodiversity, visualised on a world map. BioScope was developed for the assessment of supply chains and financial products, and gives you clear, actionable information.
Accounting for Natural Climate SolutionsLive
A methodology to measure GHG emissions from land, forests, and soils across the supply chain to be embedded in corporate and product footprints, which can be used for science-based climate target setting efforts. Includes detailed information on the scope of the proposed methodology, technical instructions, context, challenges and limitations.
Biodiversity Impact Metric (CISL)Live
The Biodiversity Integrated Assessment and Computation Tool (B-INTACT) can be used to assess and track how sourcing affects nature through biodiversity loss as a result of land and habitat transformation for agricultural production and land use intensity. The metric allows comparison of potential impacts across different sourcing locations and between commodities; it allows a company to undertake a rapid risk-screening of its sourcing in order to identify where the greatest impacts are likely to occur, thereby helping to prioritise further investigations and interventions.
IRIS+Live
IRIS is a catalogue of generally accepted metrics that measure social, environmental and financial performance in an effort to support transparency, credibility, and accountability in impact measurement practices. IRIS serves as the taxonomy, or set of terms with standardized definitions, that governs the way companies, investors, and others define their social and environmental performance.
